Commuters ridesharing in the Inland Empire have a new reason to discover their best commute. Through the IE Commuter program, the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) and San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), are rewarding commuters with a new $5/Day rideshare incentive.
Ridesharing can help commuters significantly reduce the high costs and stress of driving alone. To add to the ongoing benefits of ridesharing, for a limited time, commuters riding transit, vanpooling, carpooling, walking or bicycling to work will be eligible for $5 per day in gift cards up to $125 in a 90-day period. (Telework is not a qualified mode for this program.)
The $5/Day program is open to all UCR employees (faculty, staff and grad-students). They are temporarily expanding eligibility to include more ridesharing commuters. This means all employees, regardless of the county you live in, are eligible to participate. Even if you received an incentive in the past, you may register again. And, you only have to rideshare part-time to qualify.
To get started, simply sign up for an account at IECommuter.org/5day and begin logging your ridesharing trips on their commute calendar for a minimum of five workdays a month to qualify. Another option is to track on paper.
