Transportation Services is bringing back its popular Donations for Citations Program and will be partnering with LifeStream Blood Bank to host a blood drive. The program provides an opportunity to donate blood as an alternative to paying a citation fee. For every pint donated, donors will receive full credit towards a parking violation up to $75. It cannot be applied to citations that have accrued late fees.
There is usually a higher number of citations in the fall quarter as people are new to the campus and don’t know the parking rules. This not only helps our students, faculty and staff by providing an alternative to paying their citation, but it also provides much needed blood donations to fulfill the needs of our local community.
Anyone can donate blood, regardless of whether you have a citation or not. You have the option of using your donation to pay off your own citation, crediting the donations in a friend’s name, or it will be credited to a random citation done through a raffle.
The blood drive will be held at Transportation Services on October 28th and 29th from 9am-3pm. To reserve a time, go to http://www.lstream.org/UCRTAPS to schedule an appointment. You may also donate blood at any official blood bank between October 23-31, 2021. A receipt is required as proof of donation and must be redeemed at Transportation Services by end of day November 1, 2021.
